      Hello,

You have the spark in you already, Lucy. I’m sure, as a youngster you were curious and asked questions – that’s part of being a scientist.

Being a practicing scientist you get to design experiments to try and answer the questions you might have.

As you will have found from the scientists here in the Polonium zone, science is a huge and diverse field, so there’s room for all sorts of sub-themes to be studied. Whether you want to find out if we humans can sustain long travel into outer space to go on and discover the stars, or to maintaining the coral reef and all its wonderful and colourful species, to robot carers for the elderly, the choice is vast, it is what you enjoy thinking about the most.

Science needs you Lucy; you and your curiosity can help science to progress. I hope you carry on asking questions and start finding the answers. Good luck with whatever career you decide to choose, hope it is in area of science 🙂

      Huma
