      Hello!

Great question. All ‘matter’ is made up of atoms. These atoms are then made up of protons and neutrons. The total number of protons in Uranium-238 atoms is 92, and neutrons 146. The total of these two numbers is 238, explaining the name ‘Uranium-238’!
