      Hello Tom.H23,

      The next huge invention could come in communication, using thought rather than speech, text and gestures, to communicate with others.

      Brain research combined with artificial intelligence techniques (machine learning), could produce brain interfaces that help us to manipulate objects and talk to others just by thinking.

      How could this help humanity? Well the research will have to involve some kind of brain filtering so we don’t express all our thoughts! Also brain-communicating technologies would have to be secure to prevent our brain being hacked and our body and actions controlled by others.

      This research will help us to understand our brain more, and further understand how human communication and language understanding works.

      It’s an exciting area and I can’t wait for driverless cars controlled by my thoughts – I can’t drive so looking forward to affordable robot cars 🙂
