      Hello GalaxyJJ,

Do you mean the European Union funded Horizon2020 programme? Or do you mean generally what technological progress there will be by 2020?

The steam that has pushed artificial intelligence forward since 2011 in ‘deep learning’, for example in IBM’s Watson machine that beat human general knowledge quiz contestants in a TV show ‘Final Jeopardy!’, and digital assistants like Apple’s SIRI ‘Phone app also introduced in 2011, could see conversational robots by 2020 with humanlike speech recognition and human language understanding.

I think progress in natural language in machines could see a major advance by 2020 so much that we’ll no longer be typing, we’ll all be using speech dictation. Beyond that it could be thought-manipulation – I read that the Chinese are building wheelchairs that can be manoeuvered by a user/patient’s thoughts. Wouldn’t this be great- maintaining our privacy which can be lost if we’re dictating/talking to our machines when other people are around?
