Hello Jess, Firstly please think about whether you are prepared to move away from home. For college, if there’s a college close to home/where you live look at their website and see if they offer computer science courses, also go into their Open Days and ask them what they offer, or ask for an appointment to visit and ask questions.

Secondly, computer science is a wide area with lots of sub-topics, such as computer programming, games design, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning and more, which area are you interested in?

For university, the better the ‘A’ level grades you achieve the better your chances of securing a place at a top university – please see the link below which ranks UK universities in Computer Science, you can see Cambridge University is ranked number 1, and Imperial College London is ranked number 2

Whatever your ‘A’ level grades you can enter computer science. There are lots of job opportunities in all sorts of industries from tech companies like Google or IBM, to banking, local and national government, NHS and more. It is an exciting field because all industries will need technology underpinned by computer science to innovate and advance.

Apologies for the long answer, hope it’s helpful, if not please do ask another.

      Huma
