      Hello 728npug46,

I really hope this chat initiative will encourage you and some of the other pupils to consider artificial intelligence / robotics to study beyond school, either in industry or in academia.

We do need new people coming through looking at one challenge in artificial intelligence, that of natural language: how do we develop robots that can talk like humans? This is important in cases where we are designing robots/virtual assistants to interact with humans, for example carer/companion robots for the sick and the elderly, or digital speech assistants on your smart ‘phone. There are all sorts of issues, including privacy, security, and trust in the hard task of natural language for machines.

Hope the subject will interest you.

      Huma
