• Question: Why does the universe exist (scientific)?

      Hi Sam,

      Brilliant question! In fact, I think this is one of the biggest and open questions in modern day science, that many people would like to one day know the answer to. I guess our best bet for finding out the answer would be to understand in more depth *how* the Universe formed at the Big Bang, which is one of the main aims for the Large Hadron Collider experiment in Switzerland. This experiment looks at smashing tiny sub-atomic particles together, in order to try to copy the conditions that may have taken place fractions of a second after the Big Bang!
