• Question: Why do the stars make constilations in the sky?

      Hi M3g4n sm1th,

      This is a very interesting question. The constellations were actually first chosen by the ancient civilisations, who looked up at the sky and thought particular stars in patches of the sky made images they knew about. However, some of these constellations seem a bit unbelievable, for example ‘Cassiopeia’ is supposedly shaped like a woman sitting in a chair, holding a mirror! Here’s a picture of the stars making up this constellation – let me know if you agree!
