The salt in the sea comes fro the rocks on the land. when the rain falls on rocks it dissolves a little tiny bit of the rock and releases ions. Most of these ions are Sodium and Chlorine. The ions run off with the water and end up in the sea. sodium and Chlorine bond together to make sodium chloride which is the chemical name of salt!
