Your heart is a muscle and it actually starts beating in the womb at 6 weeks – it is the first thing to become developed after conception and it is the last thing to beat before you pass away. It’s amazing!
In terms of how this happens the heart has an internal pacemaker which stimulates electrical signals to pass through causing it to contract – extremely clever.
