• Question: If our brains are just a mishmash of biochemistry, how come chemicals like gasoline or bug spray can't think?

      I’m not sure I can answer it very well though as I’m not a neuroscientist but I’ll give you my idea. Not only do we have different chemicals (or hormones) in our brain we have things called neurones which are like roads connecting different parts of the brain together. Electricity travels along these roads and allows thoughts to happen – something we don’t find in gasoline or big spray!
